What is refundable

ChargeRefundable?
Airline fare and taxesAs the fare rules allow, less the airline’s cancellation charge
Seats, baggage and mealsAs the airline’s own rules allow
Travel insurance add-onAs the policy terms allow
Payment processing feeGenerally not
Lifti service / booking feeGenerally not — returned in full if the airline cancels, makes a significant schedule change, or Lifti is at fault

A fare marked non-refundable can’t be refunded once the ticket is issued, however early you cancel.

Changes, names and no-shows

Date and route changes cost the airline’s change fee plus any fare difference. Passenger names must match the travel document exactly; airlines treat a name change as a re-issue, and some don’t allow it at all. If a passenger doesn’t travel and the booking wasn’t cancelled before departure, it is a no-show: many fares keep no value, while some allow a refund of unused taxes.
